E-DECIDER 2015 National Level and California Capstone Exercise Resources


The California Earthquake Clearinghouse used the 2015 NLE as an operational exercise to foster inter-agency data collection and collaboration among Clearinghouse partners, with an ultimate goal of developing an information collection plan for earthquakes. The 2015 National Level Exercise (NLE) used the 2012 ShakeOut Scenario based on a catastrophic M7.8 earthquake on the Southern San Andreas Fault.   The functional exercise spanned 5 days, from May 11-15, 2015 and included three operational exercises – the Southern California NLE (FEMA), the California Capstone, and the Ardent Sentry (military).  E-DECIDER participated with the California Earthquake Clearinghouse over the five day exercise.

NASA UAVSAR Interferogram San Andreas Fault - LA Basin (Cajon Pass)

The NASA UAVSAR Airborne Radar was flown over Cajon Pass on May 11 to simulate a post-earthquake overpass.  Data was processed and posted to XchangeCore on May 14 (Day 4) of the functional exercise.
